Dementia Forward Mince Pies and Memories

Monday, 19th December 2016

Our team at Carefound Home Care gathered together last week to support awareness and fundraising efforts of our local dementia support charity in North Yorkshire – Dementia Forward.Dementia Forward Mince Pies

This December, Dementia Forward are asking people to take some time out and gather friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to share a mince pie, a special memory and make a £1 donation. Not only does it mean you do your bit to raise awareness of dementia and the great work that Dementia Forward do, but it will also help raise vital funds to support this cause.

Some of the memories shared by the Carefound Home Care team were:

“Being present at my grandson’s birth and having the honour of cutting the cord.”

“Brother and sister-in-law’s wedding and being their bridesmaid.”

“The car I have owned for over 25 years, lovingly restored by my wonderful sons and presented back to me at my surprise party.”

We would encourage anybody to take part in this year’s Dementia Forward Mice Pies and Memories. By doing so you will be:

  • Raising awareness of dementia
  • Encouraging conversations around the illness with the aim of reducing stigma
  • Supporting Dementia Forward’s vital work
  • Helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation
  • Possibly discovering hidden gems about the people you see every day!

Dementia Forward provide support and advice to people living with dementia and their families across Ripon, Harrogate, York and the surrounding areas.
