Tuesday, 22nd March 2016

Yorkshire’s outstanding rated provider of elderly home care services is spending this month delivering almost 100 chocolate eggs to families and staff in across the area.

Carefound Home Care Easter

Carefound Home Care support older people to remain in their own homes in Harrogate, Ripon and Wetherby, and also provide 24-hour live-in care to families across Yorkshire as an alternative to moving into a care home.

This Easter the team is celebrating with the families they support by getting out and about and delivering chocolate eggs together with plenty of Easter cheer.

Lorna Dawber, Home Care Manager at Carefound Home Care, said:

“We love this time of year and always take the opportunity to enjoy it with the families we care for and our staff.”

“But there is a serious message here – many elderly people can feel lonely during holidays, especially if they live alone or don’t have family living locally. The risk of this can be higher where conditions such as dementia are involved.”

“Companionship and relationships are a huge part of what we do and we place great value on using events such as Easter to celebrate with our clients.”

“This may just be a way of brightening somebody’s day, or it can even be aimed at reminiscing and triggering positive memories as part of the specialist support we provide to people living with dementia.”
