Great British Care Awards Finalists in the North West

Based in Wilmslow, the Cheshire team of Carefound Home Care are celebrating two team members being named as regional finalists for the Great British Care Awards.

Hayley Gill and Kirstie Macdonald have both been shortlisted for The Care Newcomer Award at the Great British Care Awards (North West). These awards are made up of a regional set of events throughout England and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The winners across each region go on to represent their area at the national Great British Care Awards event.

The Care Newcomer Award seeks to celebrate a new member of staff who has started their role in the care sector since January 2016 and has excelled in their new career.

Hayley Gill is an hourly carer at Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow and joined the team in October 2017. Kirstie Macdonald is a live-in carer at Carefound Home Care in Cheshire and joined in March 2018.

Katie Brennan, Home Care Manager at Carefound Home Care in Cheshire, said:

“Hayley has joined our team with lots of experience in the residential care sector but was new to supporting older people at home. She is highly compassionate and caring and this has shown through the care and support she provides to her clients. She also has a great positive attitude and always ensures that the older people she supports have positive well-being and an improved quality of life.”

“We are very proud of Kirstie who has shown a natural talent since joining us, particularly in the care she has provided to her client living with dementia who she has helped to remain living independently at home through highly person-centered care. She is very caring and clearly enjoys her role as a live-in carer.”

The winners of the Great British Care Awards (North West) will be announced at a Gala Dinner at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester on 24th November 2018.
