Home Care Manager Joins North Yorkshire Care Alliance Board
Tuesday, 23rd February 2016
Lorna Dawber, Home Care Manager at Carefound Home Care, has joined the team at the Care Alliance for Workforce Development (CAWD) in North Yorkshire and York.
CAWD is part of the national care skills body, Skills for Care, and is aimed at engaging local employers and training providers in a region so that local workforce issues and opportunities can be identified and addressed. It also manages local funding for learning and development of staff working in the care sector in North Yorkshire and York, including working closely with Skills for Care, the Sector Skills Council for Adult Social Care in England and Job Centre Plus initiatives.
When asked why she joined CAWD Lorna said:
“I joined CAWD to keep up to date with developmental opportunities for our Home Carers to ensure they are up to date with current legislation and enhance their professional and personable skills. CAWD also allows me to network with other professionals and agencies to identify any training needs within the Care Sector and source additional information and courses that would enhance the overall performance of our staff.”
