Loyal Staff Recognised at Outstanding Home Care Company

Wednesday, 22nd February 2017

Two employees at Yorkshire’s only “outstanding” rated home care company have received long-service awards.

Jo Wood and Carla Hainsworth joined Carefound Home Care when the company started in 2012 and are celebrating 5 years’ service with the team. They were presented with their awards at the company’s offices in Harrogate and, as a gesture of appreciation, will be able to choose from an extra day’s paid holiday or £100 worth of gift vouchers.

Jo is a member of the company’s Harrogate hourly care team and joined as a Registered Nurse having previously worked in hospitals, care and nursing homes and home care. She has a particular interest in supporting clients living with dementia and is a great example of the difference somebody with her expertise can make to an elderly person’s life in enabling them to continue to live at home. Jo won a finalist award in the Dementia Carer category of the Great British Care Awards in 2013.

Carla came to Carefound Home Care with no care experience but a clear passion to help others and learn. In only 5 years she has gone on to achieve her Level 2 & 3 Diplomas in Health & Social Care and progress to a leadership role as Senior Home Carer. Carla was named Care Newcomer of the Year at the Great British Care Awards in 2014.

Lorna Dawber, Home Care Manager at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, said:

“Our service at Carefound Home Care is all about people, people and people! Valuing our staff and celebrating their achievements is very important to us and we are delighted that both Jo and Carla have recently passed 5 years’ service in Harrogate. They are a fantastic example of the quality of our team and what can be achieved when you set your mind to it, and it is great to be able to reward them for their longstanding work and loyalty.”
