Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Carefound Home Care helps promote nutrition and hydration
Wednesday, 23rd June 2021
Older people and their carers at Carefound Home Care have been celebrating Nutrition and Hydration Week including a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, complete with tea, cakes and outfits.

Nutrition and Hydration Week is an annual event to help raise awareness of the risks and promote the good practices that can help prevent malnutrition and dehydration.
Carefound Home Care help older people enjoy a better quality of life at home and their teams across Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire celebrated the event by promoting daily tips and recipes to their carers.

On the Wednesday, which was Global Tea Party Day, they also held tea parties in their offices and their clients’ homes to not only encourage fluid and nutritional intake but also bring some joy and fun.

Oliver Stirk, Managing Director of Carefound Home Care, said:
“There are around 3 million people at risk of malnutrition in the UK and this number is likely to have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“Preventing malnutrition and dehydration is key to maximising older people’s well-being and in doing so reducing the burden on the NHS.”
“It’s fantastic to see the lengths our teams have gone to in promoting Nutrition and Hydration Week this year, not to mention the smiles it has brought.”
