Morrisons shoppers benefit from free information stands about care services in York

Carefound Home Care in York has been working with Morrisons to make information about local care services more accessible.
There is evidence that many older people in York feel there is a lack of information available about adult care options and the financial implications of decisions they make.
Regular information stands, run by local home care provider Carefound Home Care and held at Morrisons Foss Islands in York, are giving older people the chance to access this information more easily.
Lorna Miles, Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in York, said:
“Care services in York remain under pressure making it harder for older people, including those awaiting discharge from hospital, to arrange the care they need. Our free information stands at Morrisons are giving families the opportunity to learn more about what is out there for them.”
“Whether people want understand how to arrange care for a loved one, or where to get advice about paying for care, or even what jobs are available in the care sector, our expert team are really enjoying being on-hand and having informal chats.”
Wendy Davis, Community Champion at Morrisons Foss Islands in York, said:
“I am very happy to accommodate the very friendly staff of Carefound Home Care in our store to promote awareness of their services to our customers.”
“In this very difficult climate where the care sector is struggling, many people are not able to get the care that they so desperately need, so it is important for companies like Carefound Home Care to provide the information to our customers and the wider community of the service that they provide.”
“So many people want to stay in their own homes now as well, so this is a very special service of care.”
