North Yorkshire Care Professionals Achieve Long-Service Award

Two care professionals from the Yorkshire team of Carefound Home Care have been recognised for their hard work and commitment through the company’s prestigious long-service award.

Pandora Heap (left image) is an hourly home carer in Harrogate and joined the Carefound Home Care team in April 2013. Prior to this she worked in the retail industry for over 25 years and was inspired to apply for the home carer role following her own personal experiences and a recommendation from local dementia charity, Dementia Forward. Despite not having had professional experience in care, Pandora quickly displayed a natural ability for supporting our elderly clients to live at home and has been able to use her own knowledge and experiences to work in partnership with families. Pandora supports clients with a range of needs and has shown particular expertise in supporting people living with dementia.

Before joining Carefound Home Care as an hourly carer in March 2013, Raye Davies (right image) had worked as a senior carer in a residential care home after an extensive career in nursing and midwifery. Raye consistently demonstrates empathy and kindness towards her clients and she is able to use her experiences and skills from having been a registered nurse to improve both her clients health and social outcomes. This has included caring for clients living with various complex conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Lorna Dawber, Home Care Manager of Carefound Home Care in Yorkshire, commented:

“Pandora and Raye have been valuable members of the Carefound Home Care team since they joined us over 5 years ago and they play a huge part in the continuing success of our service. They have both brought passion and professionalism to their roles and have a natural ability to ensure positive, person-centred outcomes for their clients.”

In celebration of their first 5 years with Carefound Home Care, Pandora and Raye have been awarded a Certificate of Recognition and the option of an extra day’s paid holiday or £100 in gift vouchers.
