MP for Rushcliffe Ruth Edwards visited Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford this month to learn more about their latest CQC inspection and the challenges facing the health and social care system.

Carefound Home Care, which provides highly personalised home care services to older people in Nottinghamshire, was inspected and rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in July.

The West Bridgford team was delighted to receive a visit from Ruth Edwards MP who was keen to learn about the exceptional levels of client and staff satisfaction highlighted by the CQC in their inspection report.

The Rushcliffe MP also heard about how Carefound Home Care is able to use its live-in care service to help older people discharge from hospital and reduce pressures on the NHS.

Jade Farnsworth, Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford, said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Ruth Edwards MP and we’re delighted that she has recognised the care, compassion and dedication of our team.”

“We also welcomed the opportunity to discuss important issues for the health and social care sector, including the fact that there are growing numbers of patients in Nottingham NHS hospitals who are medically fit for discharge but cannot return home due to unavailability of social care services.”

“At Carefound Home Care we have been working hard to raise awareness of how live-in care can be used to combat this by offering round-the-clock care from a professionally trained carer who is on hand to help with daily living activities.”

“Live-in care brings many benefits including one-to-one care from the same carer, safer hospital discharges and less risk of readmission, the ability to support more rural or harder to resource care packages, and it’s a cost-effective solution especially for couples.”

Following her visit, Ruth Edwards MP, said:

“It was great to meet with Jade and the Carefound Care Home team again and hear their wonderful news on achieving an Outstanding CQC rating. Many congratulations to them all.”

“I am aware of the current difficulties in the social care sector and am always willing to listen to those on the ground and hear about their potential solutions.”
