Supporting Happy Dance in North Yorkshire

Wednesday, 02nd October 2019

Carefound Home Care has attended Happy Dance, a new activity for older people who love to dance in North Yorkshire.

Happy Dance is designed to brighten up your life through music and dance. It’s fun whilst also keeping the body and mind in great shape!

Carol Sherwood, Recruitment & Community Manager for Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, has attended the first Happy Dance session in North Yorkshire and is pleased to support and help promote the service in our local community.

Whether you are aged 55 to 105 years, Happy Dance is open to all and is led by Jane Waring. Jane has over 30 years’ experience teaching dance and is a qualified ballet dancer and choreographer. She is also trained in supporting people living with dementia to dance.

In founding Happy Dance, Jane saw the opportunity to bring older people together to remember music and dance from the decades, and she has choreographed routines for all fitness levels to ensure everyone attending is able to participate and enjoy the freedom of dance.

Happy Dance costs only £5.00 per session and takes place weekly at the following locations:

St. Andrews Church Hall, Starbeck: Tuesday @ 2pm-3pm
The Methodist Church, Pateley Bridge: Wednesday @ 10am-11am
St. Peter’s Church, Harrogate: Thursday @ 2pm-3pm
