Three Finalists at Great British Care Awards in Yorkshire

Carefound Home Care are delighted to announce that three members of their Yorkshire home care team have been named as finalists at Great British Care Awards.

The Great British Care Awards are a set of regional events which take place every year across the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the health and social care sector. They are aimed at paying tribute to those people who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their field of work.

The Yorkshire Care Awards will take place at the National Railway Museum in York on 22nd November 2019 with the winners going on to compete against other regional winners at the national finals in early 2020.

Lorna Miles is the Registered Branch Manager for the Yorkshire service of Carefound Home Care and has been shortlisted for the Home Care Registered Manager Award. Her service is based in Harrogate and supports over 50 older people with specialist hourly visiting care and full-time live-in care. She is responsible for an amazing team which has consistently achieved ‘Outstanding’ ratings from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). She also has a particular passion for working with specialist conditions such as dementia.

June Peel is a Relief Live-In Carer and uses her expertise to provide short-term or more intensive support to clients requiring live-in care. She has been shortlisted for the Dementia Carer Award which recognises an individual who has demonstrated the specific skills required to manage and deliver care sensitive to the needs of an older person living with dementia. June has over 45 years’ experience in the care sector and has shown particular expertise in using our specialist approach to dementia care, the SPECAL method.

Kaylie Bain joined the hourly care team at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate in 2018. Having excelled from the outset she is a finalist for the Care Newcomer Award which acknowledges and celebrates a member of staff who joined the care sector within the last 12 months. Kaylie builds fantastic relationships with her clients and colleagues, is very dedicated and always seeks to ensure that her clients are receiving the best care tailored to their particular needs.
