Time to Talk Day in York
Tuesday, 06th February 2024
Carefound Home Care hosted a coffee morning in York to encourage people to have conversations about mental health.
Time to Talk Day is an annual awareness day run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness encouraging us all to start a conversation about mental health.
25% of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year, which can leave people feeling isolated, worthless and ashamed. Sometimes it’s easier to tell people we’re ‘fine’ than to say how we really feel. But by talking about mental health we can reduce stigma and help create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.
Carefound Home Care in York were delighted to host an open coffee morning on Time to Talk Day with members of the York community, clients and staff coming together to participate in activities, conversations and enjoy complimentary cakes, coffee and tea.
Lorna Miles, Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in York, said:
“It was a delight to spend the morning with a wonderful mix of people, sharing coffee, cake and great conversation. We engaged in activities that stimulated the mind to start conversations around mental health and the importance of being able to talk freely about how we feel. It was lovely to meet some new faces and engage with the local community.”
