Discover why we’re rated so highly

Our locally managed, highly personalised home care service has been shown to improve health and well-being outcomes for older people, and we’re very proud that families from across our local regions have trusted us to be their chosen care provider over many years.

With an unrelenting focus on helping older people enjoy a better quality of life at home, we have been recognised for being the best in a number of different ways including verified reviews from our clients and their loved ones, independent inspections from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), at local and national awards, and accreditations from local authority and NHS bodies.

All of these signals demonstrate why we are recognised as a leading home care provider, committed to supporting our clients and their families, our staff, and our local communities.

Inspected and regulated by the Care Quality Commission

Carefound Home Care is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the home care services we provide, which is different from some other home care providers who are introductory agencies and therefore unregulated.

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England and is responsible for making sure that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care. During the CQC’s rigorous inspection regime care providers are given either an Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate rating, based on the five key questions they ask:

  • Are they safe? – you are protected from abuse and avoidable harm
  • Are they effective? – your care, treatment and support achieves good outcomes, helps you to maintain quality of life and is based on the best available evidence
  • Are they caring? – staff involve and treat you with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect
  • Are they responsive to people’s needs? – services are organised so that they meet your needs
  • Are they well-led? – the leadership, management and governance of the organisation make sure it’s providing high-quality care that’s based around your individual needs, that it encourages learning and innovation, and that it promotes an open and fair culture

Our CQC inspection results are unparalleled across the home care industry:

Harrogate branch

Our Harrogate branch is rated Outstanding by CQC and is one of the only care providers in the country to have achieved this prestigious rating for a second time.

West Bridgford branch

Our West Bridgford branch is rated Outstanding by the CQC and is one of the few home care providers in the country to have achieved this accolade at its first inspection.

Wilmslow branch

Our Wilmslow branch is rated Outstanding by the CQC and is one of the only home care providers in the country to be judged as outstanding in all five areas – safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

York branch

Our York branch was newly registered with the CQC in December 2022 when inspectors checked that the service is likely to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

Princess Royal Training Award

The Princess Royal Training Awards are run by City & Guilds and celebrate employers who show outstanding commitment to learning and development and demonstrate how their training has positively impacted the business and their people. The awards are evidence-based, and there is a rigorous application process involving an online application, a virtual assessment from an assessor, and a recommendation from the assessor to HRH The Princess Royal. We are incredibly proud to have received this royal recognition for our care professional pathway, which is a structured 6-month programme designed to ensure care professionals are competent and confident in their roles, so that they can make a genuine difference to their clients’ lives.
