West Bridgford dementia and carers event a success

Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford held a stall at a local dementia and carers marketplace event organised by Rushcliffe Dementia Action Network (RDAN).

Local residents were invited to a dementia event at Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford on 16th May 2024, offering a range of support services available to help improve the lives of carers and people living with dementia.

The team from Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford were delighted to attend the event and enjoyed the opportunity to speak to many people about their specialist home care for people living with dementia.

Jade Farnsworth, Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford, said:

“Our West Bridgford team had the pleasure of helping organise and attending the dementia and carers marketplace event at Rushcliffe Arena. It was great to see such a good turnout and collectively we were able to support and give advice to many people and their loved ones living with dementia in our local community.”

At the free event there were over 40 stall holders, 2,607 leaflets given out, and 271 referrals made, not to mention the positive and engaging conversations with attendees.

Alongside Carefound Home Care, local services who attended included Alzheimer’s Society, Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service, Rushcliffe Social Prescribing, Nottinghamshire Police, NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, Age UK and Trent Bridge Community Trust.

Gwynneth Owen, Project Lead for Rushcliffe Dementia Communication and Support Project, said:

“I wanted to say a huge thank you to those who helped to make last week’s event such a success. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from both stall holders, and those we organised this event for, our visitors living with dementia and their carers.”
