Guests seated and enjoying a screening of White Christmas in Bishopthorpe

Carefound Home Care York was delighted to host a festive film afternoon in Bishopthorpe, bringing together clients, family members, care professionals and members of the Bishopthorpe community for a complimentary screening of the classic film White Christmas.

Held at St Andrew’s Parish Church in Bishopthorpe, the afternoon offered a lovely opportunity for older people in the Bishopthorpe community to chat, socialise and enjoy something Christmassy together. There was lots of conversation and laughter, both before the film and afterwards.

A cinema-style screen was set up inside St Andrew’s Parish Church, proving a cosy viewing experience for everyone. Tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes were also provided.

Louise Harrison, Recruitment & Community Manager at Carefound Home Care York, said:

“We were delighted to hold this Christmas event in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice, a charity that supports many families across the Bishopthorpe community and York. Thank you to everybody who kindly donated and helped support their important work.”

Brian Waddington, one of Carefound Home Care York’s clients in attendance, said:

“I just want to say a heartfelt thank you for all the effort each of you put into the film event. It was nice to meet you all in a social atmosphere, and I was particularly pleased to meet up with two of my past care professionals.”
