Carefound Home Care Wilmslow hosted a Christmas event at The Rex Cinema in Wilmslow on Friday, 12th December. People from the local community, dementia care group Always Active, clients and their families, and our care professionals, all came together for a festive cinema afternoon to watch It’s a Wonderful Life.

The event was designed to encourage older people to get out and about and spend time with others. Hosting the event at The Rex Wilmslow provided a familiar and accessible venue, making it easy for guests to attend and enjoy the afternoon.

Alongside the film screening, the event raised £145 for local charity, Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, thanks to the sale of mince pies and a very popular homemade lemon drizzle cake baked by one of our care professionals.

Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank supports people who are struggling to afford everyday hygiene essentials, items that are often overlooked but are so important.

Sarah Vickers, Recruitment & Community Manager at Carefound Home Care Wilmslow, said:

“We had a fantastic time at this year’s charity cinema event in Wilmslow. Now in its third year, it was our best one yet, not only for the funds raised, but for the meaningful connections made within our local community.”

“Thank you to everyone who attended and donated, ranging from members of the local community to our valued clients and care professionals.”

Wendy Hobson, Board Chair at Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, said:

“We just wanted to thank you for inviting us to your private view of It’s a Wonderful Life. It was such a pleasure to be given permission to take time out from the Christmas melee.”

“It was great to see your clients and colleagues, and we wanted to say a really big thank you for the kind donations of products and the cash collection – all very much appreciated.”

“Very best wishes from us all here to all of you for Christmas and 2026.”
