Carefound Home Care Wins at Great British Care Awards 2013

A Harrogate-based elderly care provider celebrated at a prestigious awards ceremony at the National Railway Museum, York last week which saw individuals and organisations recognised for excellence in the care sector.
Carefound Home Care, which provides specialist home care and dementia care services to elderly people in North Yorkshire, won the Care Newcomer Award and was a regional finalist for the Dementia Carer Award.
The Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards, supported by the Department of Health, are one of the regional schemes that make up the Great British Care Awards, which recognise outstanding achievement in both the home care and care home professions. Winners from the regional event will now attend the national finals in London next year.
Carla Hainsworth was delighted to win the Care Newcomer Award which recognised her natural ability to care for elderly people with a range of needs, including those experiencing dementia. The judging panel was also impressed by the fact that she has managed to complete a Diploma in Health and Social Care through the company’s training scheme after only 1.5 years in the sector.
Jo Wood was a regional finalist for the Dementia Carer Award which not only recognised the support she provides to elderly clients living with dementia at home, but also the part she has played in developing the company’s specialist dementia care service in collaboration with a leading dementia charity, the Contented Dementia Trust.
