‘Kick4Parkinsons’ was organised by the Wilmslow branch of Carefound Home Care on Sunday, 14th July with their staff taking on Macclesfield Ladies Football Club at the Leasing.com Stadium.

The event brought together older people who are cared for by Carefound Home Care, their family and friends, the local community, and the Mayor of Macclesfield, Cllr Sandy Livingstone, who came along to offer his support.

Sarah Vickers, Recruitment & Community Manager at Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow, said:

“After months of organising, it was brilliant to see Kick4Parkinsons be such a success, and to raise as much money as we did for Parkinson’s UK. Everybody who came along was in great spirits and it got us all in the mood for the England final that evening!”

“I am incredibly proud of our care professionals who attended training sessions outside of working hours and did so well on the day. We are also hugely grateful to everybody who supported the event including Macclesfield FC, Macclesfield Ladies, our volunteer coach Will Worswick, local businesses, and The Mayor of Macclesfield.”

David Steele, Community Fundraiser for the North West & Isle of Man at Parkinson’s UK, said:

“A huge cheer for Carefound Home Care for smashing their fundraising goals as well as smashing in a few goals during their charity match. Thank you for raising more than £2,000 for Parkinson’s UK.”

“With more than 40 potential symptoms, Parkinson’s can devastate lives. We’ve made huge breakthroughs in the last 50 years, but there is still no cure and current treatments are not good enough.”

“We hope that Carefound Home Care’s fundraising challenge inspires you to get involved with Parkinson’s UK. There are lots of ways for you to get involved and support us – from volunteering at an event, to campaigning for better services. Without the generosity of people like you, our work would not be possible.”
