Harrogate home care manager wins at Horse of the Year Show

Harrogate home care manager, Carla Hainsworth, and her horse Darrowby Ajax have won a national title at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show.
Having qualified in July 2024 in Carlisle to ride at the Horse of the Year Show, Carla picked up the SEIB Search for a Star Show Cob of the Year on the 10th October 2024 at the Birmingham NEC.
In her role as Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, Carla has overall responsibility for the services delivered by the Harrogate home care provider. To fit around her busy day job, she has been preparing her horse Darrowby Ajax, aka ‘Murphy’, on early mornings and evenings.
Commenting on her victory, Carla said:
“Just qualifying for Horse of the Year Show was a complete shock. Never in a million years did I think we would come away with winning the SEIB Show Cob of the Year 2024!”

“Alongside working full time, I take care of my horse ‘Murphy’ every morning and night, it’s long days and not always straight forward. However, to be able to get out in the fresh air first thing in a morning and after work really does help your headspace and feeling ready to give 100% at work.”
