UK Older People’s Day is an annual event held on 01 October 2012 which aims to encourage people to think differently about older people and challenge stereotypes.

This year’s UK Older People’s Day is focused on sharing skills and experience across generations: the ‘Big Skills Share’. Organisations from across the country are expected to get involved in events being held and the day represents a great way for new relationships to be formed between people of all ages.

Harrogate home care provider, Carefound, fully supports any celebration of elderly people and their input into society. Improving awareness and understanding of care in North Yorkshire is extremely important and it is hoped that many different people and organisations will be involved in this year’s event. More information about an event near you can be found on the UK Older People’s Day 2012 website.
