The Nidderdale Charity Walk & Run is a popular event organised by the Rotary Club of Harrogate, aimed at raising money for local charities in the Harrogate District. The starting point is Pateley Bridge, and there are a choice of routes taking participants into Upper Nidderdale.

Claire Spence and Danielle Ferebee from Carefound Home Care in Harrogate completed an 8-mile route in aid of Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP), which supports older or vulnerable people to live independently across the Harrogate District. The project is run by North Yorkshire charity, Harrogate & District Community Action (HADCA).

Danielle Ferebee, Recruitment and Community Manager at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, said:

“We were proud to be involved in the Nidderdale Charity Walk & Run this Sunday and to raise funds for HELP, especially on such a beautiful day in Nidderdale.”

“I first volunteered with HADCA over Christmas after hearing of the amazing work they do to support our local communities, charities, and volunteers in Harrogate. It is great to know that we are helping them to continue with this.”

So far over £250 has been raised by Carefound Home Care for the HELP project, and anyone can continue to donate here.

Lizzie Hughes, Development Manager at HADCA, said:

“Massive thanks to Danni and Claire for taking part in this year’s very hot Nidderdale Walk in aid of HELP. At a time when funding is tight for small charities, we’re very grateful for the support we get from the local community, especially from people like Danni and Claire who are willing to challenge themselves for our cause!”

“Huge thanks to their friends, family and colleagues who have sponsored them – all the money raised will go towards helping people stay safe and well in their own homes and connected with their communities.”
