Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford completed the Walk For a Cure event raising £120 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Walk For a Cure is a series of 5k fundraising events taking place across the UK which aim to bring together families, communities and everyone impacted by dementia.
On Sunday 14th July the team from Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford put their walking shoes on and completed the Sherwood Pines event which covered a 5k route through the heart of Sherwood Forest.
Their efforts raised £120 for Alzheimer’s Research UK and the donation will go towards helping scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.

Shelley Taylor, Recruitment & Community Manager at Carefound Home Care in West Bridgford, said:
“We had a great time at Walk For a Cure Sherwood Pines, and it was hugely inspiring to walk alongside so many people whose lives have been affected by dementia.”
“It was also a great opportunity for us all to get together as a collective, and contribute our time, stories and journeys, whilst raising valuable funds to aide crucial research into finding a cure for dementia.”
Lucy Squance, Director of Supporter Led Fundraising at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said:
“If nothing changes, one in two of us will be directly affected by dementia – either by developing it ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both.”
“Fantastic fundraising efforts like this are driving our search for a cure to end the heartbreak of dementia.”
